THE INCAS

The Incas were in the fourteenth century and then were the most important civilization in South America .
In 1438, the Incas began their expansion came to dominate land territory now belonging to Colombia , Ecuador , Peru , Bolivia , Chile and Argentina .
In the Inca civilization, Inca was considered a descendant of Inti ( Sun) Idea developed the beliefs of their origins. They say that Ayar Manco Capac or Southeast brothers came to found the holy city of Cusco , capital of Tawantinsuyu .
The Incas reached such expansion by having a well-organized society. They organized themselves into small companies Ayllus calls . Each Ayllus had a boss, curaca and consolidated rapidly conquering nearby or by marriage with some of the Inca daughters Curaca or simply through military conquest peoples.
The Ayllus functioned as family and territorial units. Its members were given a territory to work it and also had to render free services to the state. These services are known as Mita.
When the Inca empire reached its height , Christopher Columbus reached the Caribbean coast . The Inca Empire was conquered in 1532.
